4 to your intelligence is a good reason to rule that a PC just drops concentration, and that is different to just flat out being polymorphed (remember that this might be flipped, a PC might polymorph a villain into a really unintelligent beast so they stop concentrating on their spell - but hey that’s smart). Maybe if these Pixies keep attending fights they level up a little - some unlocking Polymorph as a spell or even growing beyond the ¼ challenge rating.ģ) As much as the designers have said that you can concentrate on spells while Polymorphed, that doesn’t mean that you won’t stop concentrating for indirect reasons.

Players may imprint on the one Pixie, Dewflower (yes she has a name now), who can cast Polymorph. This is a great opportunity for realism and character building. However there is an issue if you’re unsure whether you summon the same Pixies each time - maybe only 1/8 has so the other 7 Pixies would have to look at the T-Rex for a round to learn what it is for next turn.Ģ) The Monster Manual has stats for versions of creatures, not every single monster has (or even should have) the stat array from the book. Your players have just gone on a mini quest to unlock this combo, I would probably allow it at this point.
